The Los Angeles Lakers have had a bit of a roller coaster ride this season. They started out as one of the best teams in the entire league after a 10-4 start. JJ Redick was getting a lot of praise for how he was starting out his coaching career.

Cleveland has made it to the best record in the league through 30 games. And all the Cavs really could use is some better work on the glass, as they rank only 19th in rebound percentage. This is a team with high-minute small guards and not a lot in the way of athletic size off the bench. But we’re nitpicking here.

The Indiana Pacers won five straight games and six out of seven prior to taking on the Thunder on Thursday evening. They were one of the hottest teams in the league. During that span of seven games, the Pacers had the seventh-best defensive rating in the league.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have a chance to win the second NBA Cup with a win Tuesday over Milwaukee in Las Vegas and climb atop The Arizona Republic's NBA power rankings. A loss definitely won't drop them out of the top five. This is arguably the best team in the NBA.
