The Tamil Nadu cabinet has approved a Rs 13,180 crore investment by Yuzhan Technology to create 14,000 jobs, enhancing economic growth in the state.

The proposal was approved by the Tamil Nadu Cabinet, which met on Tuesday to clear 14 new industrial projects with an investment of Rs 38,698 crore, that would generate 46,931 jobs, a statement from the state government said.

One of the key investments that was cleared was a project by Yuzhan technology (India) Pvt Ltd, which is a unit of Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn. This particular project entailing investments to the tune of Rs.13,180 crore is coming up at Kancheepuram and will provide employment to 14,000 people.
