Light aircraft crashes into field in Fife
Emergency services are at the scene of a light aircraft which has crashed into a field in Fife. The incident happened just before 11:40 in an area near Kinglassie. Special rescue units have been deployed by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and police Scotland are also at the scene.

The 50-year-old pilot of a light aircraft has died after his plane crashed near an airport in Fife. Police Scotland confirmed on Monday afternoon that the male pilot had been pronounced dead at the scene. Special units were deployed to the site of the wreckage, near Fife airport in Kinglassie, at about 11.40am.

Crews, including a HM Coastguard helicopter raced to the incident at Glenrothes Airport in Fife after receiving the alarm at 11.38am. Two fire engines and a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) rescue unit have been drafted to the scene.
