It appears as though Vancouver Canucks defenceman Tyler Myers avoided what initially appeared to be a serious injury last night.

Tyler Myers has officially been ruled out of the Vancouver Canucks game against the Philadelphia Flyers. The Canucks defenseman was involved in an awkward collision with Joel Farabee during the first period. After the collision, Myers needed to be helped off the ice and was unable to place any weight on his injured leg.

On the early action leading to his removal from the game, Myers' left ankle appeared to twist underneath Farabee during the fall, causing the 6-foot-8 blueliner to stay down on the ice. Trainers had to help Myers off the ice, with the defenseman unable to put weight on his leg as he left the rink.

While speaking to reports on Saturday, Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet provided an update on Tyler Myers, who left Friday’s game after delivering a hit on Philadelphia Flyers forward Joel Farabee, resulting in an awkward collision along the boards.
