Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai launched a unique protest on Friday, December 27, condemning the state's handling of a sexual harassment case involving a second-year engineering student from Anna University.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai flogged himself six times Friday morning to begin a protest against the ruling DMK, over the Anna University incident and to ensure the party is defeated in the 2026 election.

Calling the DMK an “evil force,” Annamalai urged the middle class to rise and question the government. He demanded the sacking of the Chennai city police commissioner or at least the deputy commissioner over the Anna University case.
