Al Pacino is not the type of actor who likes to watch his films. He's so strongly repelled by the prospect that he even ducked out early from The Godfather premiere screening — then waited 50 years to finally watch it.

Francis Ford Coppola confronted the star about his performance in an upmarket Manhattan restaurant, telling him to look back on his acting so far.

Ford’s role as Han Solo would directly feed into his legendary role in the Indiana Jones movies and help him become one of Hollywood’s biggest actors, while Al Pacino took the auteur route. Almost 50 years later, there’s more upcoming Star Wars movies and TV shows on the way.

Pacino isn't the only actor who was in the running for Han Solo or turned it down. Burt Reynolds turned it down, saying he later regretted the decision. Sylvester Stallone auditioned for it, and Kurt Russell did as well--you can even watch Russell's audition tape.

Pacino remembers having "absolutely no understanding of what the f--- I was talking about" on the "Me, Natalie" set.
