Mick Schumacher has emerged as a late contender for the Sauber seat, after Audi Chief Mattia Binotto confirmed discussions.

Sauber's 2025 Formula 1 driver lineup, signaling a potential return to the sport after his history at Haas F1 team.

Only two seats remain open in F1. While the scenarios seem to be clear at VCARB and now it is only up to how the drivers will perform there, Sauber (currently competing under the name Stake F1) are yet to announce Nico Hülkenberg's teammate for 2025.

Audi’s Mattia Binotto has opened the door of opportunity for Mick Schumacher to join the team for F1 2026. Audi is yet to announce its second driver, having already signed Nico Hulkenberg – the German driver will move to Sauber for 2025 before the full takeover of the Swiss squad by Audi.

Sauber are the only team without a confirmed driver line-up for next season. Since announcing Nico Hulkenberg’s contract in April, the Hinwil-based squad have assessed many drivers that could drive alongside him 2025.
