The National Hurricane Center on Sunday was tracking Hurricane Oscar in the western Caribbean Sea and Tropical Depression Nadine over Central America. Hurricane Oscar quickly strengthened yesterday afternoon after becoming a tropical storm near the Turks and Caicos earlier that morning.

Hurricane Oscar has made landfall on Great Inagua island in The Bahamas and is expected to reach Guantanamo or Holguin in Cuba as a hurricane on Sunday afternoon, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Hurricane Oscar has formed off the coast of the Bahamas and is expected to bring hurricane conditions to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands as the storm moves west. Heavy rainfall is expected across eastern Cuba by Sunday.
