A New Jersey Transit River Line train operator died after a train struck a downed tree in Mansfield Township, Burlington County.

The operator of an NJ Transit light rail train was killed and 24 passengers were injured Monday morning when the River Line train struck a tree on the track in Burlington County, officials said. The northbound light rail train hit the tree at 6:04 a.m. north of the Roebling station in Florence, NJ Transit said.
