Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday warned that hurricane season isn't over and urged Congress to fund the agency's disaster relief for future storms.

President Joe Biden and other leaders are warning that Congress will soon need to pass additional funding to fill the federal government’s rapidly dwindling disaster-relief coffers after two major hurricanes slammed into the southeastern US.

President Biden took questions on Hurricane Milton recovery efforts and the spread of misinformation concerning FEMA and federal support. Mr. Biden said his administration continues to help Florida and its leadership with all needs after Milton and Helene.

President Biden on Friday again referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as the president, after an awkward interruption from Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, who sought to remind Biden to Harris to toss to Harris.
