RTD reports increase in copper wire thefts that disrupt rail service
The Regional Transportation District is reporting more cases of copper wire thefts near track signals, switches and rail crossings, which has resulted in a loss of $110,000. FOX31 first reported about these thefts in July when RTD said they had five cases of stolen copper wires in one week along the R Line between Peoria Station in Aurora and Lincoln Station in Lone Tree.
