Orange County Sheriff's investigators said the case was initially thought to be a suicide that happened on Monday.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office says Lt. Eloilda “Ellie” Shea was shot and killed by Anthony Shea on Oct. 14.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 49-year-old Anthony Shea, a former OCSO Sergeant, is accused of murdering his estranged wife, 39-year-old Lt. Eloilda “Ellie” Shea, on El Prado Avenue near the Deerwood community.

A lieutenant with the Orange County Sheriff's Office died earlier this week, allegedly shot and killed by her estranged husband – a former sergeant – and made to look like a suicide attempt, the sheriff's office said.
